  • Media Planning Associate
    Redwood City, CA

    The media planning associate is responsible for all campaign-related media planning for Brand Capital International and their portfolio companies, in an effort to increase brand awareness, introduce them to new audiences, and increase penetration overall. The individual will be accountable for soliciting, negotiating, reviewing, and recommending media programs, primarily focused on print and digital but should have basic understanding of the entire multimedia landscape. The individual will facilitate contracts, agency partners, timelines, and vendor management while interfacing with the portfolio companies and executives within Brand Capital International. He/she will be responsible for envisioning and executing the media plan. The role will work out of our Redwood Shores office and report to the Director of Brand Strategy.

    What you’ll be responsible for:

    · Develop media buying strategies for Brand Capital International and their portfolio companies, based on budget, to increase brand awareness. Establish media plans for both Brand Capital International and portfolio companies.

    · Negotiate with vendors to ensure the best costs

    · Draft contracts and manage outside contacts

    · Project manage across various campaigns

    · Monitor costs and ROI; work with media team to adjust based on how media plan performs

    · Ensure ads and creatives are displayed properly

    · Liaise with the media teams on all channels and serve as an expert for internal and external purposes.

    Who you are:

    · Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field

    · 3-5 years of experience in media planning and buying and advertising budget management

    · Excellent communication and negotiation skills

    · Able to effectively work with vendors and function as a valued partner to brand strategy and finance team members

    · Passion for media and new advertising formats (esp. non-digital)

    · Able to function independently as an expert within this vertical

  • Senior Associate, Business Development
    New York Metro Region

    Opportunity

    Brand Capital International is looking to add a Sr. Associate in the New York Metro area to join the venture investment and business development team that will specifically focus on supporting teams in the East Coast region of the US. The candidate will play a key role in sourcing and evaluating potential deal opportunities, supporting other business development team members, building relationships with other financial entities, and supporting portfolio companies. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in the venture capital industry and hold connections to a wide variety of financial institutions, investors and understand how to create opportunities for Brand Capital International and their portfolio companies.

    Responsibilities

    • Source, identify, and analyze new investment opportunities by working with the team to expand its co-investment and corporate partner ecosystems.
    • Develop investment theses and deep dive on specific technology areas with subject matter experts to understand who might be an appropriate investor for each company.
    • Perform research and analysis of new markets, technologies, competitive landscape, and share findings to the team.
    • Evaluate and perform due diligence on potential opportunities, including preparing investment memos and presenting to Brand Capital International leadership.
    • Execute new and/or follow-on financings, including deal structuring and financial modeling.
    • Assist and support portfolio companies.Engage with the VC/entrepreneurial community

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in business administration, finance or marketing, preferably an MBA
    • 5-7 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 year’s experience in Venture Capital
    • Strong connections and contacts within relevant financial and venture communities that can support portfolio companies, through introductions and exposure
    • Ability to work across both continents and time zones
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity and passion for core technologies
    • Fluency with data manipulation, financial models, cap tables and presentations
    • Must be a self-starter, solutions oriented, comfortable working with minimal oversight and taking on new tasks on-demand/as needed

    Job Title: Sr. Manager – Accounting and Tax

    Job duration: 40 Hours / Week, Permanent position, Full time

    Job Duties: Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation. Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions. Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Financial Reporting Standards and Indian Accounting Standards. Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses. Oversee the operations of the accounting department in US and India, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. Managing the budget process and prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget. Develop and distribute monthly and quarterly metric-based reports to evaluate sales performance. Evaluating accounting and internal control systems. Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed. Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns. Monitor, track and proactively report performance, identify issues, opportunities and progress on investments and advertising revenue from multiple media assets. Work cross functionally with all levels of the business and conduct aggregated analysis in a meaningful way to drive strategic priorities and promote the culture of job value creation by providing recommendations on efficiency opportunities. Perform P&L analysis to provide insight and guidance for future events. Build ad hoc back of the envelope analyses to quickly inform critical cross-functional business decisions. Complete special assignments, and ad hoc requests as needed.

    Job Requirement: Required Masters or foreign equivalent in Accountancy, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration, or any related field + 1 year of experience with the same or similar job duties but given another designation
